Buying a car or van through your business can often mean thinking about many different criteria that you wouldn’t normally have to consider when buying for yourself. You’ve got to think more about tax and emissions and all kinds of other things. This often means you forget how to look for a good deal, and of course this could mean you’re missing out on a lot of savings. Where then, should you start your hunt for a business vehicle?
Click and Compare?
The first thing that comes to mind will be using the internet. We use it to compare just about any product these days, so there’s no reason not to use it for this, surely? There are a great many business lease providers out there, whether you want just one car, or a fleet of vans, and you can go through all of them to find not only the best price. The real problem with this however, is that you won’t actually get the chance to look at the vehicle to make sure it’s the right one for you. It’s all too easy to get wrapped up in numbers and forget that, at the end of the day, you’re paying for a set of wheels, not just the ability to get you, your employees or your stock from A to B.
Know What You’re Buying
You could then, go down to your local dealership to find out what their options are. This is probably the best option, because you’ll be able to discuss the vehicle needs exactly, and everything will be there for you to see. You might think that dealerships are often more focused on selling to private buyers, which could mean they don’t have the same level of expertise and service when it comes to selling you a business product. Fear not however, as most good dealerships will have in-house specialists who are trained to give you exactly the service that you need. Ridgeway for example are a major Audi dealership that have business managers at a variety of their forecourts. In terms of costs, there’s no reason that you can’t try a couple of different dealerships to get the best deal – you should never go with the first option you’re provided with, and always haggle.
So, if you’re in the market for one or a fleet of vehicles, then get down to a dealership and have a chat with their reps rather than just browsing online. It’s worth your time.
